The motor shaft is a critical mechanical component within the EV drive system; it not only transmits torque output from the motor but also converts the motor's rotational motion into driving force for the wheels. Positioned inside the rotor and connected to the silicon steel laminations within the rotor's center bore, the shaft drives the rotor's rotation, serving as a core element of the motor's powertrain.

Each drive motor requires a rotor shaft to facilitate rotor support, rotational positioning, and torque output; furthermore, some dual-motor, quad-motor, and hybrid models utilize multiple electric drive units.
