Evonik defines Dynasylan 6490 as a vinyl- and methoxy-containing oligomeric siloxane and positions it as a compatibilizer between inorganic fillers and organic polymers, which reflects the core value of this material class: interface coupling combined with polymer modification.
From the demand side, growth is mainly driven by three application clusters: substitution of monomeric silanes in low-VOC coatings, adhesives, and sealants; durable hydrophobic protection for concrete, aerated concrete, masonry, stone, and facades; and interface modification in cables, photovoltaic encapsulation films, mineral-filled polymers, glass fiber, and composites.
