Titanium diboride (TiB2) is an extremely hard ceramic which has excellent heat conductivity, oxidation stability and resistance to mechanical erosion. Its melting point is approximately 3230℃ and has a density of 4.52 g/cm3. Titanium Boride is the most stable of several titanium-boron compounds. The material does not occur in nature but may be synthesized by carbothermal reduction of TiO2 and B2O3. TiB2 is resistant to oxidation in air at temperatures up to 1100 °C, and to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids, but reacts with alkalis, nitric acid and sulfuric acid. TiB2 is also a reasonable electrical conductor, so it can be used as a cathode material in aluminum smelting and can be shaped by electrical discharge machining. Titanium boride micron powders are commonly used in ceramic sintered parts, structural applications including cutting tool composites, ceramic armor nozzles, wear parts, seals, molten metal crucibles and metallizing boats.
The North American market for Titanium Diboride Nanopowder was valued at US$ million in 2025 and is projected to reach US$ million by 2032, at a CAGR of % from 2026 to 2032.

Related Reports
