Water-based metalworking fluid—also known as emulsifiable metalworking oil—is a type of coolant-lubricant concentrate that is diluted with water for use in machining operations. It provides both cooling (from the water) and lubrication (from the oil), making it ideal for reducing friction and heat in metal cutting, drilling, milling, grinding, and other processes.
1. Multifunctionality
The application scope of metalworking fluids covers a variety of processing methods such as rolling, drawing, extrusion, forging and cutting. In addition, the difficult-to-biodegrade surfactants and harmful sulfur, phosphorus, chlorine and other complexes and inorganic salts contained in metalworking fluids will also cause irreversible damage to the environment. With the increasing global attention to environmental protection, the development of metalworking fluids tends to be more environmentally friendly. 3. Water-based processing fluids
