Diffractive beam sampler is an optical device used for beam sampling and analysis. It can divide the beam into two parts, one as the sampling beam and the other as the reference beam, and analyze the spatial distribution and wavefront shape of the sampling beam through interference effects. The basic principle of a diffraction beam sampler is to use the diffraction principle to divide the beam into two parts. In a diffraction beam sampler, when the beam passes through a small hole or slit, diffraction occurs, forming a diffraction spot. The beam at the center of the diffraction spot is called the sampling beam, while the surrounding beam is called the reference beam. The sampling beam and the reference beam overlap again after a certain distance, forming interference fringes. By analyzing the shape and spacing of interference fringes, information such as the spatial distribution and wavefront shape of the sampled beam can be obtained. The advantage of a diffractive beam sampler is that it can collect the full field information of the beam and does not require the addition of additional optical components in the optical path. It can be used for evaluating beam quality, testing optical components, analyzing beam propagation, and other fields.
