Phenylcyclohexane is a colorless oily liquid. Soluble in alcohol, acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, hexane and xylene, insoluble in water and glycerol. Phenylcyclohexane is widely used as high boiling point solvent, penetrant, intermediate in organic synthesis. At the same time, phenylcyclohexane is also used as an additive for lithium-ion battery electrolytes to improve battery safety.
The increasing use of cyclohexylbenzene in the production of lithium-ion battery electrolytes and liquid crystal material intermediates will drive the electronic grade market. Cyclohexylbenzene is the main raw material for the production of LCD material intermediate 4-ethylcyclohexylbenzoic acid. LCD electronics is used as an anti-overcharge additive for lithium-ion battery electrolytes to improve battery safety.
