The fusiform IVC filter is a medical device specially designed to prevent pulmonary embolism (PE) caused by the detachment of blood clots in the inferior vena cava (IVC) system. The fusiform IVC filter adopts a shuttle shape design, that is, the two ends are pointed and the middle is wide. This design helps to maintain stability in the inferior vena cava and increase the capture area of blood clots.
Material: Usually made of metal (such as stainless steel, titanium alloy, etc.) or alloy, with good biocompatibility and durability. There are multiple brackets or filters inside the filter to capture blood clots or other emboli while allowing blood to pass smoothly. The working principle of the fusiform IVC filter is based on its unique structure and design. When blood flows through the filter, blood clots or other emboli will be captured in the filter, while the blood can continue to flow smoothly to the heart and lungs. This design can effectively prevent the emboli from detaching and causing pulmonary embolism.
