ISP (In-line Strip Production) technology is an innovative technology conceived at the end of the 1980s within the Group and developed and industrialised in the early 1990s on the plant built at Acciaieria Arvedi in Cremona. Continuous plant and technological development of ISP since 1992 has led to excellent results and has laid the foundations for future, even more advanced developments. In 2009 production started on the new plant based on Arvedi ESP (Endless Strip Production) technology, a direct evolution of the earlier ISP technology, which realises an epoch-making innovation: the continuous cast-rolling process. Arvedi ESP is a unique way of steel production with zero CO2 emissions, zero fossil fuels, and the lowest energy use among all similar technologies.
