Biocides for Oil and Gas are specialized chemicals used to control microbial growth in oilfield systems. Their primary goal is to kill or inhibit sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), acid-producing bacteria (APB), and microorganisms that cause biofouling.

If left uncontrolled, these microorganisms can cause a series of serious problems:

Microbial Influence on Corrosion (MIC): Accelerates corrosion of pipelines and equipment.

Reservoir Acidification: Microbial metabolism produces hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), degrading oil and gas quality.

Biofilm and Blockage: Formation of biofilms, clogging pipelines and formations.

Reduced Production Efficiency: Increases maintenance costs and disrupts normal production.
