XRT Ore Sorter is a sensor-based particle sorting system used in mining and mineral processing to inspect individual ore and mineral particles after crushing, screening and controlled material presentation. It uses X-ray transmission technology to measure differences in X-ray attenuation through each particle and analyzes density-related characteristics, effective atomic number, internal mineral distribution and structural features to distinguish valuable ore from low-grade material and gangue. The system typically integrates feeding and material presentation equipment, a conveying or particle transport system, X-ray sources, detector arrays, image acquisition and data-processing units, sorting controls and high-speed pneumatic ejection mechanisms to detect, locate, classify and separate particles continuously. XRT ore sorters are used for run-of-mine pre-concentration, early waste-rock rejection, low-grade ore upgrading, stabilization of processing-plant feed, retreatment of historical stockpiles and recovery of high-value minerals.
