Cleaning cycles can be initiated by differential pressure, preset time intervals, or flow signals, enabling continuous filtration and automatic discharge of retained contaminants. A Seawater Filter Skid does not remove dissolved salts, and the treated medium therefore remains seawater, distinguishing it from seawater desalination equipment.

Upstream materials and components for Seawater Filter Skid mainly include stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, super duplex stainless steel, copper-nickel alloys, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, engineering plastics, wedge-wire screens, sintered screens, filter cartridges, valves, pumps, pressure and differential-pressure instruments, controllers, skid frames, and corrosion-resistant coatings. Midstream manufacturers are responsible for filtration process design, equipment selection, skid fabrication, piping integration, automation and control, pressure testing, and marine or offshore certification.
