Market Snapshot
Source: Secondary research, interviews with experts, and QYResearch analysis
The global CO₂ Refrigeration Valve Station market is projected to grow from US$ 647 million in 2025 to US$ 1212 million by 2032, at a CAGR of 9.6% (2026-2032), driven by critical product segments and diverse end‑use applications.
A CO₂ Refrigeration Valve Station is an integrated refrigerant-control assembly designed to regulate, isolate, filter, direct or protect the flow of R744 refrigerant within a commercial or industrial refrigeration system.
The station may combine shut-off valves, strainers, check valves, solenoid valves, electronic expansion valves, pressure-regulating valves, safety devices and measurement ports within a common valve body, welded pipe assembly, manifold or skid-mounted structure.
Typical installation positions include evaporator liquid-feed lines, suction lines, hot-gas defrost circuits, liquid-drain lines, flash-gas bypass circuits, gas-cooler outlet lines, receiver outlets and CO₂ pumping circuits.
The 2025 ASP is US$3,850 per unit, global sales volume is approximately 168,000 units, and the estimated average gross margin is approximately 36%.
The upstream chain includes cast and forged steel bodies, stainless steel, copper-iron alloy tubing, sealing materials, springs, strainers, solenoid coils, stepper motors, pressure sensors, temperature sensors and industrial connectors. Midstream activities include flow-path design, valve sizing, machining, welding, assembly, pressure testing, leakage testing, control-module configuration and functional validation. Downstream users mainly include food retailers, cold-storage and logistics facilities, food and beverage processors, industrial-process cooling facilities and ice or leisure venues.
CO₂ refrigeration is expanding from European food retail into North American supermarkets, cold-storage facilities, food processing and larger industrial applications.
The increasing installed base directly raises demand for evaporator valve stations, high-pressure valve groups, flash-gas control assemblies and replacement valve modules.
Integrated valve stations are gaining share over conventional field-assembled valve groups because they reduce the number of welds, installation time, required space and potential leakage points.
Modular construction is becoming the principal product direction. A common pressure-bearing body can be configured with different shut-off, filtering, solenoid, regulating and check-valve modules according to the application.
Factory pressure testing is particularly important for CO₂ systems because small assembly or welding defects may become significant at elevated standstill and operating pressures.
Transcritical systems create demand for valves and stations with pressure ratings of approximately 90–140 bar or higher on the high-pressure side. Lower-pressure evaporator and suction stations may use 52–65 bar platforms, depending on system design and standstill pressure.
System pressure cannot be selected only according to normal operating pressure. Designers must also consider power failure, refrigerant migration, ambient heating and the maximum possible standstill pressure.
