Dioctyl Adipate (DOA), commonly known as Di (2-ethylhexyl) Adipat, Bis (2-ethylhexyl) Adipat, or DEHA in the plasticizer industry, is an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid ester produced by esterification of adipic acid and 2-ethylhexanol. Its industry abbreviation is DOA, CAS No. 103-23-1. This product is usually a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with good low-temperature flexibility, cold resistance, plasticizing efficiency, light resistance, and processing performance. It can be used as a non phthalate plasticizer for PVC, synthetic rubber, cellulose resin, and some coating systems. Its main applications include cold resistant wires and cables, food packaging films, synthetic leather, hoses, sealing materials, gloves, shoe materials, and low-temperature lubrication formulas. Compared with general phthalate plasticizers, DOA has more advantages in low-temperature performance, but volatility, migration, and durability need to be balanced with specific formulations.
