Premium business- and first-class products may additionally incorporate full-flat mechanisms, privacy doors, storage compartments, lighting and integrated cabin furniture. Upstream inputs typically include aluminum/titanium/high-strength steel for load-bearing frames, composite parts for lightweight structures, PU foams and flame-retardant textiles/leather for comfort and dress covers, plus engineered plastics, fasteners, and adhesives. Tier suppliers provide seat tracks, hinges, recline/actuation mechanisms, wiring harnesses, switches, motors, and connectors to enable manual or powered adjustment and to interface with cabin power/IFE. Downstream demand is driven by new aircraft deliveries, fleet refresh cycles, cabin reconfiguration programs, and the growing value concentration in premium cabins.
The strict market scope generally includes Economy Class, Premium Economy Class, Business Class and First Class passenger seats installed on regional aircraft, narrow-body aircraft, wide-body aircraft and commercial turboprop aircraft. The scope normally excludes cockpit seats, cabin-attendant jump seats, military ejection seats, helicopter mission seats, air-medical stretchers, components sold separately and seats intended exclusively for private or business jets, unless such products are demonstrably installed in airline-operated commercial aircraft.
