District Heat Supply Pipes, also commonly referred to as District Heating Pipes, are insulated pipeline systems designed to transport thermal energy from centralized or distributed heat sources to residential buildings, commercial facilities, public institutions and industrial users. The transported medium is generally hot water, high-temperature water or steam, while similar pipeline structures may also be used for district cooling and combined heating-and-cooling networks. A typical district heat supply pipe consists of a carrier pipe, thermal-insulation layer, outer protective jacket, joints, fittings, valves, sealing components and, in some systems, moisture-monitoring or leak-detection wires. According to structural rigidity and installation form, products can be divided into rigid pre-insulated pipes and flexible pre-insulated pipes. According to carrier-pipe material, they can be classified as steel, polymer, copper and other composite carrier pipes. Steel carrier pipes are mainly used in high-temperature, high-pressure and large-diameter transmission networks, while polymer and copper carrier pipes are more commonly used in secondary distribution networks, branch lines and building connections.
The principal raw materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, cross-linked polyethylene, heat-resistant polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutylene, polyurethane insulation foam, mineral wool, high-density polyethylene jackets, aluminum diffusion barriers, rubber seals, adhesives and corrosion-protection materials. Product performance is primarily evaluated through thermal conductivity, operating temperature, pressure resistance, mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, moisture protection, joint reliability, service life and installation efficiency. District heat supply pipes are mainly purchased by district energy utilities, municipal heating companies, combined heat and power operators, power plants, industrial parks, engineering contractors, property developers, residential communities, hospitals, universities, government facilities and commercial-complex operators. The product scope covers pipes and associated fittings used in primary transmission networks, secondary distribution networks and final service connections, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of thermal energy from heat-generation facilities to end users.

The District Heat Supply Pipes market is closely associated with urban energy infrastructure development, heating-network renovation and the transition toward lower-carbon thermal systems. Pre-insulated steel pipes remain the principal solution for large-diameter primary transmission networks, while flexible polymer pipes are gaining wider application in secondary networks and building connections because they can be supplied in coils, reduce the number of joints and shorten construction time. Twin-pipe and multi-pipe configurations are also expanding where compact trench dimensions and reduced installation workloads are required.
