Battery Pack Liquid Cooling Manifold refers to a coolant-distribution assembly installed inside or immediately adjacent to an automotive traction-battery pack.
It distributes coolant from a main supply passage to multiple cold plates, battery modules or cooling tubes and collects the returning coolant through a return passage. The product may consist of separate supply and return manifolds, an integrated dual-channel body, or a manifold-and-line assembly.
The manifold may incorporate branch connectors, fixed restrictors, flow-balancing features, quick connectors, sensors, valves, venting points and mounting structures. Its purpose is to provide controlled coolant distribution while minimizing pressure loss, leakage points, package space and assembly complexity.
Cold plates, standalone cooling tubes, pumps, chillers, reservoirs, vehicle-level thermal-management modules and non-automotive cooling manifolds are excluded.
The 2025 benchmark ASP is US$70 per unit, modeled global sales volume is approximately 16,517.26k units, and the estimated average manufacturing gross margin is approximately 22%.
The upstream industry chain includes engineering plastics, aluminum alloys, elastomers, seals, hoses, tubes, quick connectors, valves, sensors and fastening components. The midstream includes hydraulic design, flow simulation, injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, welding, connector assembly, sensor integration, pressure-drop testing, leak testing and thermal-cycle validation. The downstream mainly covers passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses and special-purpose electric vehicles.
The primary engineering objective of a battery-pack cooling manifold is not simply to move coolant, but to distribute it uniformly among multiple cooling branches.
If one branch receives excessive flow while another receives insufficient flow, battery modules can develop different temperature profiles even when total pump flow is adequate. Manifold taper, inlet position, branch diameter, internal surface geometry, restrictor size and supply–return arrangement therefore directly affect temperature uniformity and pumping energy.
Parallel manifolds supply several cold plates from a common inlet and collect the return flow through a common outlet. They can provide relatively uniform inlet temperature across modules but require careful hydraulic balancing.
Series systems are simpler but expose downstream modules to progressively warmer coolant and accumulated pressure loss. Hybrid or zoned systems divide a large battery pack into several controlled cooling regions.
