Its primary function is to establish stable optical-path connections among lasers, photodetectors, lenses, optical fibers, fiber arrays, silicon photonic chips, and other optoelectronic components, allowing optical signals to be transferred from one component to another with low loss and consistent performance.

As China has become the principal global manufacturing base for optical modules, domestic equipment suppliers are increasingly involved in new-product introduction and customer process development, supporting continued gains in equipment installations and application coverage.
