Organic Waste Dewatering Machine refers to a mechanical device that removes free liquid from food waste, kitchen waste, agricultural residues, food-processing by-products, digestate and other biodegradable organic materials through screw pressing, compression or centrifugal separation.
The scope includes single-screw, twin-screw and other mechanical presses designed specifically for solid or high-concentration organic materials.
Conventional wastewater-sludge presses, thermal dryers, food-waste digesters, sink disposers, standalone shredders, complete organic-waste treatment plants and downstream liquid-treatment equipment are excluded.
The 2025 benchmark ASP is US$44,800 per unit, global sales volume is approximately 11.607k units, and the modeled average gross margin is approximately 32%.
The upstream industry chain includes stainless steel, screw shafts, screens, electric motors, gearboxes, hydraulic units, bearings, sensors and control components.
The midstream includes material testing, mechanical design, screw and screen manufacturing, equipment assembly, control integration and factory testing.
The downstream mainly covers municipal and commercial organic-waste treatment, food and beverage processing, agriculture and livestock, biogas and composting, and animal or biomass by-product processing.
Organic-waste dewatering is a mechanical volume-reduction and solid-liquid separation process rather than a complete waste-treatment method. The separated solid and liquid fractions still require appropriate biological treatment, composting, digestion, feed processing or disposal.
Feedstock structure has a decisive effect on performance. Fibrous fruit and vegetable residues normally form a more stable press cake than highly liquefied food waste, fat-rich waste or material containing large quantities of plastic packaging.
Pre-shredding improves feeding consistency, but excessive size reduction may create fine particles that pass through the screen and increase solids in the separated liquid.
The compression ratio is controlled by screw geometry, screen area and outlet back pressure. Excessive pressure can increase wear, power consumption and screen blockage without producing a proportional improvement in final solids content.
Single-screw presses offer relatively simple construction and maintenance. Twin-screw systems can provide more intensive mixing and compression and are often selected for difficult, slippery or high-capacity materials.
The liquid fraction should not automatically be treated as clean water. It can contain dissolved organic matter, fats, salts and fine suspended solids and may require digestion, wastewater treatment or controlled reuse.
Dewatering before transportation can reduce the weight and volume of waste, but the economic benefit depends on the actual mass of liquid removed and the cost of managing the separated liquid.
Materials containing plastic film, cutlery, glass, metal or stones require upstream contaminant removal to protect the screw, screen and downstream biological process.
Sanitary design is important in food and kitchen-waste applications. Enclosed construction, cleanable surfaces, accessible screens and odor-control connections reduce residue accumulation and improve maintenance.
