Vacuum suction cups serve as the connecting interface between workpieces and handling systems, consisting of a cup body (an elastomeric component) and a connecting element. They are used to grip and move workpieces on factory production lines or in robotic operations. Suction cups do not actively adhere to the workpiece surface; rather, when the ambient air pressure (atmospheric pressure) exceeds the internal pressure between the cup and the workpiece, the ambient pressure forces the cup against the workpiece. This pressure differential is achieved by connecting the suction cup to a vacuum generator, which evacuates the air from the space between the cup and the workpiece. Once the cup makes contact with the workpiece surface, air is prevented from entering from the sides, thereby creating a vacuum.

The upstream segment of the vacuum suction cup industry chain involves the production of polymer materials—such as rubber and silicone—and pneumatic components; the midstream segment covers the manufacturing of vacuum suction cups and system integration; and the downstream segment encompasses a wide range of applications, including industrial automation, logistics handling, and electronics manufacturing.

Suction cups are used to grip and move workpieces in a plant or on a robot. A suction cup does not attach itself to the surface of a workpiece. Instead, the ambient air pressure (atmospheric pressure) presses the suction cup against the workpiece as soon as the ambient pressure is greater than the pressure between the suction cup and the workpiece. This pressure difference is achieved by connecting the suction cup to a vacuum generator, which evacuates the air from the space between the cup and the workpiece. If the suction cup is in contact with the surface of the workpiece, no air can enter it from the sides and a vacuum is generated.
