In 2025, global high-temperature solder paste production reached approximately 800 tons, the average price is 730 usd/kg. High-temperature solder paste refers to a paste made by uniformly mixing solder alloy micro powder with a thixotropic flux carrier containing an activator. After printing/dotting, it is heated in a region above its solid-liquid phase to complete the melting and wetting process → forming an intermetallic compound → solidifying the solder joint. It is used for stepped reflow, high-temperature service, or high-reliability microelectronic/power module soldering.

Manufacturing Process and Market Trends:
High-temperature solder paste first undergoes high-purity alloy melting, followed by gas atomization or centrifugal atomization to produce ball powder under inert protection. This powder is then sieved, graded, and treated with low oxygen to obtain qualified solder powder. Simultaneously, a flux carrier is prepared by compounding resin film-forming agents, organic acid activators, multi-component solvents, and thixotropic agents. Subsequently, the solder powder and flux are premixed at low speed in a controlled temperature, humidity, and vacuum environment according to a set metal content, followed by high-shear dispersion or three-roll milling homogenization, balancing viscosity, thixotropy, and low gas entrainment. After release testing for particle size, morphology, oxygen content, viscosity collapse tack, solder ball wetting, and void tendency, it is packaged and refrigerated for storage and transportation in a nitrogen environment.
Global demand is being driven by electric vehicle power electronics and SiCGaN modules, with increasingly dense packaging. Stepped reflow and thermal cycling life requirements are constraining lower voids, more stable printing, and better high-temperature creep fatigue. On the compliance side, RoHS frameworks continue to squeeze high-lead exemptions.
