The scope excludes standalone 3D-printed insoles, display-only concept shoes, non-commercial prototypes, and conventional running shoes using molded or foamed midsoles.

3D-printed running shoes remain a premium and innovation-led segment within the running footwear market. Major applications include high-performance training, urban running, limited-edition sports lifestyle footwear, customized athletic shoes, and brand technology showcase products.
