Injection manifolds are subsea manifold systems used to distribute injected water, gas, chemicals or water-alternating-gas streams to multiple subsea wells or injection wells. They typically integrate piping, valves, connectors, ROV interfaces, control interfaces, structural frames, corrosion protection and monitoring provisions. Their core function is to maintain reservoir pressure, enhance oil recovery, optimize injection allocation and support long-term production stability in offshore and deepwater fields.
The upstream supply chain includes offshore-grade steel, forgings, heavy-wall pipes, subsea valves, actuators, connectors, seals, ROV interfaces, cathodic protection systems, coatings, sensors, hydraulic/electrical control interfaces and NDT services.Downstream customers are international oil companies, national oil companies and deepwater field operators. Production manifolds are project-based, highly customized and certification-intensive assets.

From a global industry perspective, injection manifolds have evolved from simple injection-fluid distribution devices into critical equipment for enhanced recovery, reservoir pressure maintenance, flow assurance and subsea production-system integrity management. Their core function is to route water, gas, chemicals or other injection fluids from platforms, onshore stations, subsea pumping modules or injection lines to target wells or pipeline nodes at required pressure and flow conditions. This supports reservoir pressure maintenance, improved recovery, gas-lift production assistance, hydrate inhibition, corrosion or scale control and flow assurance. In subsea systems, injection manifolds typically work together with subsea wellheads, injection trees, control systems, jumpers and umbilical systems. Technical descriptions note that subsea manifolds can gather production fluids or inject water or gas into wells, using pipework and valves to distribute, control and monitor fluid flow.
In terms of industry trends, injection manifolds are moving toward higher pressure capability, deeper-water suitability, corrosion resistance, precise flow control, modularization, remote operation and intelligent monitoring. Traditional injection systems mainly focused on injection routing and valve switching, while modern field development increasingly emphasizes multi-well injection balancing, stable injection pressure, precise chemical dosing, remote operation, fault isolation and long-term service reliability. Subsea water injection is regarded as an enhanced-recovery strategy that provides reservoir pressure support, and in selected projects it can reduce the complexity and space requirements associated with topside injection alternatives. At the same time, subsea gas lift, gas injection and chemical injection systems impose higher requirements on valve sealing, corrosion-resistant materials, flow measurement, choke control, ROV intervention capability and control-system reliability. API RP 17V also includes gas injection, water injection, gas lift and chemical injection systems within the scope of subsea safety-system analysis, highlighting the importance of injection systems in subsea production safety.

First, declining reservoir pressure in mature fields and the need for enhanced recovery are supporting continued use of water injection, gas injection and gas-lift systems to extend field life, stabilize output and improve well productivity. Second, deepwater, subsea tieback and marginal-field developments are creating stronger demand for remotely controllable, modular and high-pressure injection manifolds capable of handling corrosive service conditions. Third, operators are placing greater emphasis on flow assurance, chemical-usage optimization, safety isolation and lifecycle maintenance cost, pushing injection manifolds from ordinary distribution equipment toward system-level injection units integrating fluid distribution, pressure control, condition monitoring, remote intervention and safety shutdown.
