R402B is not a new molecule synthesized through chemical reactions. Instead, it uses high-purity R22, R125, and a small amount of propane as "ready-made components." These are precisely mixed in a controlled environment with a fixed ratio. Throughout the process, moisture and acidic impurities must be kept very low, and constant temperature and pressure must be maintained to prevent gas-liquid stratification and component drift. After mixing, residue and purity checks are performed before pressurization and sealing into pressurized steel cylinders for distribution to after-sales maintenance. Therefore, the core competitiveness of this type of product lies more in the engineering details of metering consistency, cleanliness control, and liquid phase extraction from the cylinders, rather than in the reactor process.

Its market logic also follows this "mixed + after-sales" attribute, because its original value was to provide a relatively convenient replacement path for old systems that originally ran R502, without having to immediately tear down and rebuild the compressor and piping. However, as ozone and high GWP regulations tighten the supply of HCFC-related products, the focus of new supply has gradually given way to low GWP alternative routes and natural working fluid solutions. R402B is more like a residual demand supported by the lifespan of existing equipment and the inertia of cold chain operations.
