Manufacturing Process and Market Trends:

Bio-based PLA film manufacturing uses PLA resin as raw material. After drying, it is blended with plasticizers, nucleating agents, and toughening agents. The mixture is then melt-plasticized and granulated using a twin-screw extruder. Finally, it is produced using blown film, cast film, or biaxial stretching processes. Biaxial stretching significantly improves its mechanical properties and transparency. Subsequent corona treatment is often performed to improve printability. Strict temperature control is required throughout the process to prevent thermal degradation of the material. At the market level, driven by the deepening of plastic restriction policies and the popularization of environmental protection concepts, as a biodegradable alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastic films, its applications are expanding from ordinary food packaging and agricultural mulch films to high-value-added fields such as electronic protective films, medical packaging, and compostable garbage bags. The industry is committed to continuously improving its heat resistance, barrier properties, and brittleness through blending modification and the development of non-grain biomass raw materials, while reducing production costs.
