Virtual reality rendering processing refers to the complete technical process of using computer graphics technology to calculate and generate real-time or offline data such as geometric models, texture materials, lighting shadows, and physical interactions in 3D scenes into stereoscopic images and immersive experiences suitable for VR devices such as head mounted displays. Its core lies in meeting the extreme performance requirements of virtual reality for rendering: on the one hand, rendering processing must have extremely high frame rates (usually not less than 90 frames per second) and extremely low latency (from motion to display latency less than 20 milliseconds) to effectively prevent users from experiencing motion sickness; On the other hand, due to the use of binocular stereo vision in VR, two images with slight differences between the left and right eyes need to be calculated separately for each frame, which leads to a doubling of rendering load. Therefore, modern VR rendering processing widely uses various optimization techniques such as gaze point rendering (only high-precision rendering of the user's line of sight center area), asynchronous time warping, single channel stereo rendering, etc., aiming to balance realistic visual effects and smooth interactive experience, thus constructing a three-dimensional virtual environment with strong sense of presence and realism for users.

The virtual reality rendering processing industry chain covers upstream basic technology development, midstream content production and application development (content creation for game, film, industrial simulation and other scenarios based on engines), as well as downstream distribution platforms and terminal device manufacturers.
