The high-precision map industry chain mainly consists of three segments: upstream data acquisition and basic technology supply, midstream map production and update services, and downstream application and integration. The upstream includes high-precision sensors (such as LiDAR, cameras, GNSS/IMU), surveying equipment, basic geographic information data, and related algorithms and software tools. The midstream is handled by professional high-precision map vendors responsible for data acquisition, processing, automatic/manual annotation, modeling, and continuous updates, resulting in standardized map products usable on vehicles and roadsides. The downstream is widely used by autonomous vehicle manufacturers, autonomous driving solution providers, intelligent cockpits and ADAS systems, intelligent transportation, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) platforms. In terms of gross profit margin, the upstream core hardware and key algorithm segments usually have higher gross profit margins, but competition and technological barriers coexist; the midstream map production and operation segments have a medium gross profit margin due to large upfront investment and high data processing and update costs, and there is room for optimization as scale and automation increase; the downstream application and integration segments have large differences in gross profit margins, depending on project-based, licensed subscription models, customer structure and bargaining power.
