Stirling Refrigerator is a regenerative, closed-cycle mechanical refrigeration device that operates on the reversed Stirling thermodynamic cycle to continuously transfer heat from a cryogenic cold end to an ambient-temperature heat-rejection end. An electric motor or other mechanical drive causes the compression piston and displacer to produce periodic compression, expansion and displacement of a fixed quantity of working gas, typically helium.
