After sintering, the end faces are ground and the appearance is sorted to ensure consistent dimensions and magnetic properties. Thin insulating paper or polyimide tape separates the layers, and the coil shape is locked by adhesive or heat-shrink tubing. The wire ends are stripped, tinned, and led to straight legs or leads. The entire unit is then epoxy-impregnated or coated for moisture protection and curing. Finally, each inductor's Q value and insulation resistance are measured to screen it before shipment. While the demand for tuning traditional AM radio antennas is shrinking, this type of rod-core structure still retains a niche in the high-stability material requirements of RFID coil frame near-field coupling elements, vehicle keyless entry, and tire pressure antennas.
