Hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) is a colorless, non-toxic, slightly amine flavored transparent liquid. It is an indispensable key modified material for the production of silicone rubber, silicone oil and other silicone downstream products, which can significantly improve the hydrophobic, reinforcement, ductility and other properties of silicone materials. As a group protector, HMDS is also used for the synthesis of some antibiotics, hepatitis, tumors, AIDS, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and other therapeutic drugs; In addition, hexamethyldisilazane is used in the semiconductor industry as an adhesive, cleaning agent, and corrosion inhibitor. Hexamethyldisilazane is mainly used as a group protector and activator for drug synthesis or preparation of organosilicon compounds. The main application areas of hexamethyldisilazane are pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, organic synthesis, silicone rubber, etc., with application proportions of 64%, 20%, 5%, and 3%, respectively. Other application areas account for 8%.

Electronic grade hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) can promote the adhesion of photoresist on the surface of silicon dioxide and other difficult to bond substances. Before applying photoresist, first use the spin coating method to apply it onto the silicon wafer. If the concentration is dilute, the solvent can be removed before applying photoresist.
