The single resonant OPO is a device based on nonlinear optical effects for the generating tunable laser radiation.
The single resonant OPO uses optical parametric processes to generate two new beams: a signal beam and an idler beam, by double-frequency mixing an optical pump beam through a nonlinear crystal material. Among them, the signal light has the same frequency as the optical pump beam, while the idler light has a different frequency. Because of the structure of the resonator, there is a resonant cavity to enhance the amplification of the signal light, so it is called the single resonance.
