A Radial Polarization Converter is an optical component that can convert linearly polarized light to radially polarized light, or convert radially polarized light to linearly polarized light. It is usually made of a crystal with special optical properties, such as lithium sodium niobate crystal. When linearly polarized light passes through the crystal, it is split into two mutually perpendicular polarization directions, one of which is radially polarized and the other tangentially polarized. The conversion from linear polarization to radial polarization can be achieved by choosing appropriate crystal thickness and incident angle. Conversely, when radially polarized light passes through the crystal, it is converted to linearly polarized light. Radial polarization converters are widely used in laser processing, optical communication, and optical measurement.
