An insertion flow sensor is a flow measuring device that is inserted into a pipe or pipeline to measure the flow of a liquid or gas. The sensor converts the measured signal into an electrical signal, and outputs the corresponding flow value or electrical signal for system monitoring, control or display. Insertion style flow sensors are available for a wide variety of pipe sizes and fluid media. They generally have low pressure loss and high measurement accuracy. Plug-in flow sensors are relatively easy to install, usually by cutting the pipe or using an existing pipe connection for plug-in installation. Plug-in flow sensors are widely used in many industries, including industrial process control, HVAC, water supply system, petrochemical, food and beverage, environmental monitoring and other fields. Insertion style flow sensors also offer ease of maintenance and calibration since they can be inserted and removed on the fly.
