An electronically controlled unit injector (EUI) is an electronically controlled unit injector (UI). It performs the same function as a conventional unit injector in an internal combustion engine, such as an on- or off-road vehicle or a diesel-electric locomotive. The pressurized delivery of fuel is driven by the camshaft, but the timing of the internal workings of the injectors is controlled by the engine control unit, thereby achieving certain advantages.
