The product is mainly used in battery electrodes, electrolyzers, fuel cells, catalysts, filtration, and thermal management. It excludes conventional electroplated nickel foam, bulk nickel sponge, nickel mesh, nickel powder, and downstream finished electrodes.
The industrial chain includes upstream high-purity nickel targets, polymer foam substrates, process gases, vacuum chambers, sputtering sources, and deposition equipment. Midstream covers substrate pretreatment, vacuum deposition, heat treatment, substrate removal, rolling, slitting, inspection, and surface modification. Downstream applications include batteries, hydrogen electrolyzers, fuel cells, catalyst carriers, filtration systems, aerospace components, electronics, and thermal-management equipment.
PVD Nickel Foam is a porous conductive material produced or surface-modified through physical vapor deposition to form a uniform nickel layer on a three-dimensional foam substrate. It offers high porosity, electrical conductivity, specific surface area, corrosion resistance, and controllable coating thickness. The material is mainly used in batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, electrolyzers, catalysts, filtration systems, and electromagnetic shielding. The market is moving toward thinner and more uniform coatings, lower nickel consumption, high-purity surfaces, and compatibility with advanced electrode materials. Energy storage, hydrogen production, fuel-cell development, and demand for lightweight conductive structures are the main growth drivers.
