An OLED TCON (Timing Controller) is a critical semiconductor component in an OLED display system that acts as the "brain" of the panel's data processing. It receives digital video signals (such as LVDS or eDP) from the host processor (SoC or GPU) and converts them into specific timing sequences and data formats required by the Source Drivers and Gate Drivers. Unlike LCD TCONs, an OLED TCON must manage complex compensation algorithms—such as External/Internal Compensation and Demura—to address the inherent non-uniformity and degradation of OLED pixels, ensuring precise brightness, color accuracy, and high refresh rate synchronization.

OLED TCON (Timing Controller) chips serve as the central control units in OLED display systems, responsible for decoding image signals from SoCs or display interfaces, managing precise timing, and coordinating source drivers, gate drivers, and pixel-driving circuits. Unlike LCD TCONs, OLED TCON chips must also handle complex functions such as pixel compensation, aging correction, current control, and advanced power management. As a result, OLED TCON solutions exhibit significantly higher technical complexity and system value within the display semiconductor ecosystem.
