Polyaspartic Ester Resins are amine-functional reactive resins produced mainly through the aza-Michael addition of primary diamines or polyamines with dialkyl maleates or other activated unsaturated esters. The resulting sterically hindered secondary amine groups react with aliphatic polyisocyanates to form polyaspartic polyurea or polyurethane-urea systems. These resins generally feature low viscosity, high solids content, adjustable reaction speed, rapid curing, strong weatherability, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance, and are used in protective coatings, flooring, waterproofing, transportation coatings, renewable-energy equipment, adhesives and sealants. Finished coatings, polyisocyanate hardeners and ordinary polyurea raw materials are excluded from this market scope.
