Uncooled vanadium oxide (VOx) infrared detectors are devices used in thermal imaging applications to detect infrared radiation emitted by objects. Unlike cooled infrared detectors that require cooling systems like cryogenic cooling to operate, uncooled detectors operate at or near room temperature without the need for additional cooling.
VOx is a material known for its temperature-sensitive electrical properties. When exposed to infrared radiation, the electrical resistance of VOx changes. This change in resistance is utilized to detect and measure the incoming infrared radiation, converting it into an electrical signal.
Uncooled VOx detectors are often used in various applications such as night vision systems, thermal cameras, medical imaging, and industrial monitoring. Their ability to operate without cooling systems simplifies their design, reduces costs, and makes them more compact and portable for different applications.
At present, only a few countries in the world, such as the United States, Japan, Israel, and China, have mastered the design technology of vanadium oxide uncooled infrared chips, and major foreign suppliers have certain export restrictions on my country. Due to the special sensitivity of infrared products, special equipment products are often subject to national product and technology monopoly. In particular, leading countries in technology are highly confidential in infrared thermal imaging products and technologies for special equipment, resulting in conflicts between infrared product companies in different countries.
