Anhydrous aluminum chloride has strong water absorption, reacts with water or water vapor to release heat and produce toxic and corrosive gases, and is corrosive to many metals, especially in the presence of humid air. The catalyst is mainly used to synthesize various beneficial products, including resins, rubber, petroleum cracking, dyes, detergents, medicines, spices and pesticides. It is also used to produce aluminum organic compounds, metal refining and lubricating oil treatment.
