These antioxidants prevent chain scission, discoloration, embrittlement, and loss of mechanical properties caused by exposure to oxygen at elevated temperatures.

The upstream raw materials for high-temperature resistant antioxidants come from fine chemical manufacturers of hindered phenols, hindered amines, and intermediate esterifying agents. Typical suppliers include Wanhua Chemical, Yangnong Chemical, and Riyou Chemical. Downstream demand is mainly concentrated in material systems requiring long-term high-temperature stability, including engineering plastics manufacturers, rubber seal manufacturers, and lubricant additive companies. Representative customers include BASF Engineering Plastics, Nokian Seals Systems, and Chevron Lubricant Additives. Downstream demand is primarily driven by the increasing need for improved resistance to thermo-oxidative aging in high-temperature nylon, PPS, PEEK, fluororubber, and high-performance lubricants. Particularly in automotive engine compartment components, electrical and electronic connectors, high-temperature sealing systems, and high-end industrial equipment lubrication, high-temperature antioxidants can significantly extend material life and thermal stability, preventing thermal decomposition, discoloration, and mechanical property degradation, thereby reducing maintenance costs and improving reliability.
