MEMS speakers are miniature speakers made based on micro-electromechanical system technology. Compared with traditional speakers, they have a unique structure. Most traditional speakers rely on the principle of electromagnetic induction to drive the diaphragm to make sound through the movement of the voice coil in the magnetic field, while MEMS speakers use micro-machining technology to create tiny sound-generating structures on materials such as silicon wafers. These tiny structures are usually only micrometer-sized, but they can achieve efficient sound generation. The working principle of MEMS speakers is mainly based on electrostatic drive or piezoelectric drive. When the electrostatically driven MEMS speaker applies voltage to the electrode, an electrostatic force is generated, causing the diaphragm to vibrate and then produce sound. Piezoelectric drive uses the characteristic of piezoelectric materials to deform under the action of an electric field to drive the diaphragm to vibrate and make sound. This microscopic driving method enables MEMS speakers to control vibration more accurately and produce clear and delicate sound. The design of headphones requires balancing multiple factors, including sound quality, active noise reduction and other aspects of experience. To achieve active noise reduction, a driver unit that produces high and low bass levels with low distortion is required, and generally a dynamic driver unit is required. However, when the dynamic driver unit is smaller in size, it often affects the treble performance, and the treble plays a vital role in the overall sound quality performance. Dual units can solve this problem very well. That is, through the combination of two dynamic units, a wider frequency range can be covered, low frequency and high frequency can be separated, and the overall audio clarity can be improved. The MEMS and dynamic dual unit solution uses the MEMS unit to handle the high frequency and the dynamic unit to handle the low frequency, thus bringing a clear and dynamic sound effect. MEMS tweeters are speakers specially designed to reproduce high-frequency sounds (treble).
