It forms a uniform honeycomb or microporous structure through physical or chemical foaming process. It has low density (40-150 kg/m³), high specific strength, excellent water tightness, fatigue resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. Its core function is to replace traditional solid materials through sandwich composite technology (such as composite with fiberglass/carbon fiber panels), while maintaining structural strength. The weight of the hull is significantly reduced (40%-60% less than wood, 70%-90% less than steel), and the heat insulation, sound insulation and impact resistance are improved. It is widely used in key parts such as hulls, decks, bulkheads, etc. It is one of the core materials for lightweight and high-efficiency design of modern ships.
