The global Three-Terminal Fuse market size was US$ million in 2024 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ million by 2031 with a CAGR of %during the forecast period 2025-2031.
A three-terminal fuse is a chip-type surface mount device that protects against overcurrent and overcharging. It contains a fuse element to ensure stable operation under normal current and to cut off the current when overcurrent occurs. It also includes resistive heating elements that can be used in conjunction with voltage sensing devices such as ICs and FETs. When overvoltage is detected, the heating element is electrically excited to generate heat and blows the fuse element to achieve overvoltage protection. It is usually used in lithium-ion battery packs as secondary protection, so that it can act promptly when encountering the risk of over-current and over-voltage, effectively reducing the risk of fire and explosion caused by overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit and other faults of lithium-ion batteries. Control circuit and device damage to as small an area as possible.
