Common trade names are Ultramid and Zytel. nylon (PA 66) It has high lubricity and moderate strength. It is tough, inexpensive, but has poor dimensional stability due to water absorption (hygroscopic nature).
Composites include fiber-reinforced materials and organic matrices, with the most commonly used materials being Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) composites, followed by composites reinforced with aramid or natural fibers.
