The Dry Oxygen Generator is a device that produces high-purity oxygen gas from ambient air using a process called pressure swing adsorption (PSA). In this process, ambient air is compressed and passed through a bed of zeolite or other molecular sieve material that selectively adsorbs nitrogen and other trace gases while allowing oxygen to pass through. The resulting oxygen is then collected and used for a variety of applications, including medical oxygen, industrial processes, and aerospace applications. The term "dry" refers to the fact that the oxygen produced by these generators does not contain any moisture, which can be important in some applications where water vapor could cause problems.
