Description
The global market for Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) Waste Management was estimated to be worth US$ million in 2024 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ million by 2031 with a CAGR of %during the forecast period 2025-2031.
PCBs are a group of man-made chemicals that have been used in hundreds of products, including electrical equipment, plasticizers and dyes/pigments. They were manufactured in the United States from 1929 until intentional manufacturing was banned in 1979. PCBs, if released into the environment, persist for long periods of time and can bioaccumulate (i.e., increase in concentration) in small organisms and in fish over time. People and animals who consume PCBs may be exposed to PCBs. PCBs have been shown to cause cancer in animals and adversely impact their immune, reproductive, nervous and endocrine systems. Studies have also shown that PCBs may have carcinogenic and other adverse effects in humans as well.
According to our Semiconductor Research Center, the global total output value of PCB was about US$ 81 billion in 2022. With strong drivers from new technology, such as AI, 5G and new energy vehicles, it is estimated that the PCB industry will continue to grow steadily in the next six years. Global PCB manufacturers are mainly located in China mainland, China Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Europe and the United States. Among them, Chinese local PCB companies hold the biggest share.
