A sonde is an oceanography instrument used to detect the state of marine ecosystems for a long time, and sonde is used to measure the conductivity, temperature, and depth of seawater. The reason to measure conductivity is that it can be used to determine the salinity. The sonde may also be used for the calibration of sensors. The instrument is a cluster of sensors which measure conductivity, temperature, and pressure. Sensors commonly scan at a rate of 24 Hz. Depth measurements are derived from measurement of hydrostatic pressure, and salinity is measured from electrical conductivity. Sensors are arranged inside a metal or resin housing, the material used for the housing determining the depth to which the sonde can be lowered. Titanium housings allow sampling to depths in excess of 10,500 metres (34,400 ft). Other sensors may be added to the cluster, including some that measure chemical or biological parameters, such as dissolved oxygen and chlorophyll fluorescence, the latter an indication of the concentration of microscopic photosynthetic organisms (phytoplankton) contained in the water.
Technological advances in shipbuilding, innovative materials, robotics, big data, propulsion, smart shipping and sensors are making it easier to build advanced ships. With the advancement of technology, the marine industry is non-toxic to the environment and still determines the upgrading of the global market. Furthermore, sensor technology is the most advanced and well-developed technology today and is particularly popular in transportation-related industries. Internet of Things (IoT) technology was introduced as a concept of modern smart work technology revolution. The marine industry will gain a wide range of opportunities due to the rapid growth in sensor technology applications and the capabilities of low-cost computing components. In addition, due to the advancement of wireless sensor technology and the birth of a new generation of micro-nano mechanical sensors, ship environmental monitoring and component data collection will undergo revolutionary changes.

A sonde is an oceanography instrument used to detect the state of marine ecosystems for a long time, and sonde is used to measure the conductivity, temperature, and depth of seawater.
