A countercurrent heat exchanger is a heat exchange device used to exchange heat between two fluids at different temperatures to achieve heat transfer. In this device, two fluids flow past each other in countercurrent flow, thereby enabling the transfer of heat from a higher-temperature fluid to a lower-temperature fluid.
In the counter-flow heat exchanger core, airflows are passed by each other along parallel plates in counter-flow direction. This allows to achieve the higher temperature efficiency than using crossflow heat exchanger core. Two neighbor foils form a channel for fresh and exhaust air streams.
Counterflow heat exchangers are used in a variety of applications including industrial production, energy conversion, refrigeration and air conditioning. It can be used in various industrial processes such as chemical reactions, food processing, pharmaceuticals and petrochemicals.
