The global market for Wind Lidar was valued at US$ 351 million in the year 2024 and is projected to reach a revised size of US$ 815 million by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 13.0% during the forecast period.

Wind Lidar is a type of lidar which can be used to measure wind speed and to provide information about vertical distribution of the aerosol particles. It is a new atmospheric remote sensing equipment, and semiconductor wind lidar the only effective tool to achieve remote sensing for the three-dimensional atmospheric wind field.

Lidar is a remote sensing technology that measures distance by illuminating a target with a laser and analyzing the reflected light. Although thought by some to be an acronym of Light Detection and Ranging, the term lidar was actually created as a portmanteau of "light" and "radar."

Global 5 largest manufacturers of Wind Lidar are Vaisala, Movelaser, ZX Lidars, John Wood Group and Lockheed Martin, which make up about 65%. Among them, Vaisala is the leader with about 20% market share.

China is the largest market, with a share over 40%, followed by Europe and North America, with the share about 35% and 15%. In terms of product type, Nacelle Wind Lidar occupies the largest share of the total market, more than 80%.
