Rail battery systems use for securing the on-board electrical system of railway and metro systems, for starting diesel engines as well as for the electrical drive of traction engines.
Rail battery system refers to a battery system used to provide energy to rail transit systems (such as electric trains, trams, etc.). It usually consists of multiple batteries that provide the required power while the train is running. One of the main advantages of a rail battery system is that it can reduce or eliminate the dependence on the traditional electricity supply network. This means that the rail transit system can operate in areas without catenary or third rail power supply, increasing operational flexibility. In addition, the rail battery system can also be used to recover braking energy, reduce energy waste, and improve energy utilization efficiency.
