Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) is a type of semiconductor detector used to detect X-rays. It is a large area of ​​uniform pn junction prepared on the ray incident surface of a high-purity n-type silicon wafer, a point-shaped n-type anode prepared in the center of the other side, and many concentric p-type drift electrodes around the anode. When working, a reverse voltage is applied to the pn junctions on both sides of the device, thereby generating a potential well (for electrons) in the device body.
